About The Herbal Health Coach – Draft
Welcome to The Herbal Health Coach — a space dedicated to empowered, natural healing.
I’m Danny Siegenthaler, a doctor of Chinese Medicine, herbalist, and guide for natural healing. For over four decades, I’ve studied and practiced traditional healing systems that view the body not as a collection of isolated parts, but as an interconnected whole. Chinese Medicine taught me to look beyond symptoms and to understand the deeper patterns that shape health — energy, digestion, emotions, lifestyle, and the way we relate to stress and change.
My relationship with healing became deeply personal when I faced cancer myself. Being on the patient side of medicine was both confronting and transformative. While Western medicine played a vital role in my treatment, it was the principles of Chinese Medicine, herbal therapy, nourishment, emotional support, and daily self-care that helped me rebuild my strength, resilience, and sense of balance. That experience reshaped how I practice and teach — grounding my work not just in theory, but in lived experience.
Today, my work integrates ancient wisdom with modern understanding. Chinese Medicine has been refined over thousands of years through careful observation of the body and nature. Modern research now confirms much of what these traditions have long known — the importance of nervous system regulation, gut health, inflammation, circadian rhythms, and the mind–body connection. I bridge these worlds by translating traditional concepts into practical, evidence-informed guidance that fits real modern lives.
I’m Susan O’Neill Siegenthaler, a medical herbalist, traditional naturopath, and yoga teacher. For the past five decades, I’ve studies, practiced and taught natural medicine and healing systems. As Danny’s partner in life his diagnosis of cancer had a profound effect on me. Facing the idea of losing him and having to deal with the fallout of what might be, took everything I had to try and stay positive and hopeful.
In my practice, I focus not just on the presenting signs and symptoms, but look at the patient in a holistic way; taking mind, body and spirit into account when designing a treatment plan.

Our Mission
Our mission is to empower people to understand their bodies and actively participate in their own healing. We believe health education should be clear, compassionate, and accessible — not overwhelming or fear-based. Through The Herbal Health Coach, we aim to give you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to support your wellbeing naturally, safely, and sustainably.
Our Methodology
Our approach is holistic and progressive rather than prescriptive. Instead of chasing symptoms, we focus on restoring balance by supporting the body’s core systems — digestion, energy, emotional regulation, immunity, and rest.
We teach simple, consistent practices using herbal medicine, food, lifestyle adjustments, and gentle self-care techniques that can be integrated into everyday life. Healing is not about doing everything at once; it’s about doing the right things, regularly, with awareness.
Our Healing Philosophy
At the heart of our work are the foundational principles of Chinese Medicine, traditional Naturopathy/Western herbalism and aspects of Ayurvedic medicine:
Qi/Prana (vital energy) — the force that animates and nourishes the body. When Qi flows freely, we feel clear, resilient, and well.
The Five Elements — a map of how organs, emotions, seasons, and behaviours interact, helping us understand patterns of imbalance and how to correct them.
Food as medicine — using warm, nourishing, seasonal foods to strengthen digestion, rebuild energy, and support healing at the root.
I believe the body is always moving toward balance. Our role is not to force change, but to remove obstacles and provide the right conditions for healing to occur.
